Batman character concepts

These where a few different concepts I had going, dating to about late 2002 to early 2003 (notice the disproportionate bits, as I was still working on doing that sort of thing correctly, and of course still am, to an extent.)
The one on the left was supposed to be when he tried out crime-fighting for the first little while. The first one I had that looked like that was actually more bandaged/mummyish looking, before he had created any sort of identity (i.e. Batman.) So, technically he probably shouldn't even have the bat motif across his shoulders/chest, yet.
Then when he got more serious about it, came up with an identity and asked Alfred to help with the suit, he'd of course start looking more like we know Batman to be!

BATMAN: REBIRTH - About these series of drawings:
Around about 2002 I started reading the Ultimate Spider-Man series and thought it might be kind of cool to see what it'd be like if Bruce Wayne became Batman at an earlier age. In this storyline Alfred and a few other characters would be a bit younger along with Bruce.
Alfred will have home schooled Bruce (and of course led him through a bit of training) 'til about Junior year in High school when he decided public school might be good for him to make some friends and be a bit happier. A few of his classmates would turn out to be classic Batman villains (Catwoman, for instance) and they'd all have their storylines tweaked a little, if not completely.

Eventually this idea fizzled out—but I still like coming back to it every once and a while….
