Well, here it is! This is the basic idea I have for her costume. I'm not sure which to choose as the final design, though! So any input would be great!
I learned a valuable lesson from working on this: Don't draw something small and then scan it large to save time, unless you're good at doing so! Otherwise it looks like crap, as you can see comparing the front/back views of her to the larger, more detailed, more proportionate side view! Anywho... I'm taking a little break from any Gorilla Girl work for now, as I've been itching to draw some other stuff, but knew if I didn't get this one done, it'd be awhile 'til I came back to it! So stay tuned for some knew stuff, GG related or otherwise! *EDIT: Just fixed a few things I didn't catch until after I submitted it. You draw legs like really really well! i'm impressed.
Oh and back shoulders too, looks like you really know what you're doing as far as knowing muscle function and positioning. The line going through down to the nose brings more presence to the chara i have to say. A is the best option as far as unity and space for the chara and for the reader to acknowledge her. I would keep that one and maybe make the G just a lil bigger or flashier, but they are all nice concepts. Thank you very much!
Yeah, but I still know I could do better on parts. For example, the hands on the front and back views? blah. I totally could've done better. But, I did translate these from a smaller sketch. Like, literally, scanned in the small sketch, blew it up, printed it out, and traced it bigger. If I'd not been so lazy, and actually better modified as I traced, it would've looked better. haha And yeah, I've been looking at this lately, wondering how better to make it stand out. That logo on the front looks slapped on, which, I mean, it was, just for a mock up. But she could still use something on the for. It looks too plain. Again, thanks for the constructive critisism and nice comments. ^_^ -- Like a blind man at an orgy, I was going to have to feel things out. |
